Mozilla is testing multi-process architecture (E10s) in Firefox 44 Beta
Mozilla has as planned begun the upcoming multi-process architecture Electrolysis, aka E10s to test the beta version of Firefox 44th
Under the name of Electrolysis, briefly: E10s, Mozilla for some time working on a multi-process architecture for Firefox. To date, this is enabled by default only in the nighly version and Developer editions of Firefox. Now for the first time E10s reached the beta version of Firefox, namely via telemetry experiment, as reported earlier this month.
The telemetry experiment reaches 15 percent of beta users, with half of them counts as a control group with just JavaScript E10s as E10s is disabled for all users, which are not part of the experiment. So effectively takes place an activation of E10s for 7.5 percent of the beta users. The experiment ends on January 4 2016th
Targeted for the default activation of the multi-process architecture in a final version of Firefox is currently Version 46, which will be released on April 19, 2016 – at first, but only for users that do not have add-ons installed, and then gradually for users with compatible add-ons will be until it finally enabled for all users.
